A movement assessment is a comprehensive 360 degree evaluation of how your body moves. Unlike traditional strength testing that measures how much weight you can lift, a movement assessment evaluates how efficiently your joints, muscles, and nervous system work together during athletic movement.
Think of it as a report card for your body. This assessment identifies movement restrictions before they become injuries and uncovers the physical reasons why an athlete may not be reaching their potential.

Throwing a baseball is one of the fastest movements in all of sports.
Elite pitchers generate rotational velocities exceeding 7,000 degrees per second while placing tremendous forces on the shoulder, elbow, spine, hips, and lower body.

📊How Is the Assessment Scored?
Each movement is scored using objective criteria.
Every movement has specific performance standards.
Athletes either demonstrate the movement successfully or reveal areas requiring improvement.
It a pass-or-fail test. You either have it or your don't.
It's an opportunity to identify where performance can improve.
Think of it like checking alignment on a race car.
The goal isn't perfection.
The goal is maximizing efficiency.
📣What Does My Overall Score Mean?
Many athletes immediately ask:
"Is my score good or bad?"
The answer is: That's not exactly the point.
The overall score provides a snapshot of movement quality. The , the greater the total number, the better one moves. However, the most valuable information comes from where the deficits exist—not simply the total score.
Even elite professional athletes rarely score perfectly.
The purpose isn't achieving a perfect number.
The purpose is discovering opportunities for improvement.
Your SCORE is your floor to performance (baseline level). By correcting your deficits, we are looking to raise the floor to the ceiling (maximum achievable performance).

What Is an Asymmetry Score?
One of the most important parts of the movement assessment is evaluating right-to-left asymmetry.
Throwing athletes naturally develop adaptations.

Asymmetry occurs when one side of the body functions differently than the other.

One hip rotates better than the other
One shoulder lacks mobility
One leg is significantly weaker
One side demonstrates poor balance
Large asymmetries often create inefficient movement patterns and create a plane of injury. Instead of producing force evenly, athletes compensate.

Can Movement Deficits Affect Velocity and Command?
Absolutely!
The body generates throwing velocity from the ground upward.
If force cannot be transferred efficiently through the kinetic chain, performance suffers.
