Champion Sports Performance Specialist and Overhead Throwing Expert in Algonquin, IL
Kathy graduated from University of Illinois with her degree in physical therapy in 1992. She went on to obtain her Masters in Health Science through the University of Indianapolis in 1999. Her interest in sports medicine started in high school after suffering multiple knee injuries which did not allow her to compete competitively in college in softball.
She has 20+ years of orthopedic physical therapy, sports rehabilitation, and injury prevention. She has advanced clinical training in the bio-mechanics, evaluation and treatment of the overhead athlete. She has rehabilitated athletes from all ages and sports; from those requiring conservative management to those needing rehabilitation following complex surgical intervention. She has worked with many professional athletes during her career (MLB, NFL, NBA, volleyball, soccer, tennis), collegiate, high school, and youth athletes. She has been intimately involved local high school sports in McHenry-Kane County; treating athletes from Jacobs, Dundee Crown, Hampshire, Huntley, Cary Grove, Elgin, and Crystal Lake High Schools.
Kathy is a mom to 3 active boys who have been involved in baseball, football, basketball and track/field. A natural progression, her personal involvement with her children lead to more professional involvement with baseball and football related injuries. She has been involved with District 300, District 158, several local baseball organizations, and the Algonquin Argonauts Football organization lending her experience in injury prevention, sports performance, and movement science. Her passion is keeping athletes healthy and on the field.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time at her lake house in Wisconsin with her family and 2 chocolate labs, traveling, photography, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs!
